Job Opening: Landscape Crew Leader
A landscape crew leader is responsible for managing and working alongside a team to install, maintain, and enhance residential outdoor spaces. This role involves overseeing daily tasks, ensuring high-quality work, and providing excellent customer service while maintaining efficiency and safety on-site.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a landscaping crew to complete residential landscaping projects.
- Read and interpret landscape designs, blueprints, and client requests.
- Perform and oversee tasks such as planting, sod installation, mulching, edging, pruning, and hardscape features (patios, walkways, retaining walls, etc.).
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers & blowers.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and meets customer expectations.
- Communicate directly with homeowners to address questions, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized job site.
- Monitor project timelines, labor hours, and material usage to stay within budget.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous landscaping experience required, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Familiarity with landscape design principles, plant care, irrigation systems, and hardscaping.
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery.
- Ability to delegate tasks, train crew members, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with homeowners and ensure client satisfaction.
- Lift 50 lbs., work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver’s license required
Work Environment
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Interact with homeowners, vendors, and team members.
- Use power tools, heavy machinery, and hand tools.
- Some local travel between job sites.
