
Job Opening: Landscape Construction Laborer
A landscape construction laborer is responsible for assisting in the installation and construction of outdoor environments, such as sod and artificial turf, patios, walkways, and retaining walls. This role involves heavy manual labor, working with various tools and machinery, and ensuring projects are completed to design specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in installing hardscapes, including pavers, stonework, and concrete structures
- Build and install retaining walls, fences, and decks
- Dig trenches and prepare the ground drainage systems
- Load, unload, and transport materials such as soil, gravel, and sod
- Operate and maintain construction tools and machinery, including skid steers, compactors, and saws
- Install plants, trees, and shrubs according to landscape designs
- Assist with grading and leveling surfaces for proper drainage
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean job site
- Work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous landscaping experience required (at least 1-2 years)
- Experience in landscape construction, hardscaping, or general labor
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
- Knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of blueprints and landscape designs (a plus)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willing to learn and follow instructions
Work Environment
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Interact with homeowners, vendors, and team members.
- Use power tools, heavy machinery, and hand tools.
- Local travel between job sites.
